Welcome to our website! KIPP San Francisco Bay Academy is an innovative fifth through eighth grade public charter school that prepares its students for the best high schools and colleges in the nation. KIPP stands for the Knowledge Is Power Program.
We are open to all students entering fifth grade in San Francisco. We believe that hard work and dedication are the keys to success and we have proven that this is the place for any student who wants to be ready for college. We welcome any student who would benefit from rigorous academics, character development, and our commitment to community service.
It has been a banner year for KIPP San Francisco Bay Academy! As evidence of the positive difference we are making, our test scores confirm that we are a top public school in San Francisco. Our API (Academic Performance Index) score of 866 is the highest of any public middle school, making us the highest performing middle school in the entire San Francisco Unified School District.
In addition, each student in our first graduating class earned a space at a college preparatory high school. Our graduates earned over $360,000 in scholarships and are attending private schools such as Lick- Wilmerding and The Urban School; parochial schools such as Sacred Heart and Saint Ignatius; and charter and public schools such as Gateway High School and Lowell. We've now begun the task of creating a process for following our scholars to make sure they all do well in high school and matriculate to outstanding colleges...this initiative is called "KIPP to College" and we'll be sure to keep you posted of our ongoing success!
